New Idea

I'm working on a new idea for a Christmas "book"............when I get it completed, I'll have to post a few pictures of this journey.  It's going to take me a little while to put it together but I think in the end, it'll be something to cherish and pass down through the generations.  Wow - that sounds ominous and grandiose, but I'd like to think that my children and future grandchildren, etc. will appreciate the contents.

Yesterday, I went to a great class at Memory Bound Scrapbook store in Ankeny, Iowa.  Jill Peer taught a class on a Creative Christmas Journal.  Her binding technique has me thinking of other journals to come up with and make from scratch.  When I get some made, I'll post photos.  Go the the Memory Bound website to find a calendar of their classes and check out their blog for great updates and photos of projects and crafty ideas for the holidays!  http://www.memoryboundscrapbookstore.com/  Enjoy.

First Post

Ok, I've never been on the forward edge of technology so it's only just now that I'm "blogging" for the first time.  My intention for using this post is to have a place to record some of my life; the people, places and things that make me happy and how that affects my life.  I may include photos or it may just be text.  Whatever is posted here is not intended to offend anyone and I will always to try to "give credit where credit is due" when referring to concepts/ideas/things that are not mine.  If I slip up it is a mistake and not done intentionally and, if brought to my attention, will honest apologize and give credit.  I love to craft and create; scrapbooking, quilting, cooking.  Just a few of the things I like to do and you will hear about.  I have favorite designers in all genres of my creating and will acknowledge them and their products/patterns/recipes when I use something.  I enjoy taking pictures of the things I do and am likely to post them too.  I suppose at some point I'll have to come up with some "catch phrase" or motto or something that is uniquely me...........but at this point in my life, I'm pretty boring.  If I come up with something, I'll probably use it over and over and it will become so very obnoxious. (Just kidding)

So, as you can see, I'm spending a rousing evening at home watching college football.  Let's hope this blog posts.  A first of many.  Good luck to me.
